Karen is a Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 30 years of nursing experience and the founder of Belentra Health PLLC, a telehealth practice serving adults across North Carolina. For 15 of those years, she treated substance use and mental health disorders in academic medicine and Opioid Treatment Centers, where she cared for patients with complex and overlapping conditions.

Early in her career, Karen saw how often people turned to substances to cope with stress and emotional pain because no medical option was offered. That observation shaped her approach to care. She combines clinical expertise with a coaching style that helps patients accept support, understand their options, and work toward healthier, more productive lives.

At Belentra Health PLLC, Karen provides confidential online care for substance use disorder, alcohol use disorder, major depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and acute respiratory and urinary tract symptoms. Her visits are thorough, private, and free of judgment, and she makes referrals whenever a patient needs a higher level of care.
